Welcome to Leave of Absence and Disability

Whether you’re spending time with a new baby or need to take a leave of absence because of a serious illness, American Greetings has time off and leave of absence polices in place to ensure you and your family are covered. This includes disability programs to help eligible associates maintain financial health and protect your income in the event that you are unable to work.

MetLife administers American Greetings leave of absence programs, including short-term, family and medical leave (FML), paid parental leave, other required state or local leaves (e.g. Hawaii total disability, NY Paid Family Leave, NY Disability), etc. (Note: Military, bereavement, jury and personal leaves for all associates are still administered by local Human Resources groups.)

Long-term disability insurance and associated benefits payments and management are also provided by MetLife.

American Greetings provides short-term and basic long-term disability benefits to eligible associates at no cost. These benefits pay eligible associates some portion of their salary for the period of time they are disabled. The amount of your short-term disability coverage depends on the length of your current disability, the length of your benefits-eligible service with American Greetings, and the length of any prior short-term disability benefits (if any) you have received. Union associates need to see their CBA by going to AGBenefits.com and logging into myAGBenefits to view their benefit details.
